How to Arrive
Most travelers arrive from the new Istanbul Airport (IST), which serves as the major international gateway. Getting to the hotel is easy when you have arranged for a private airport transfer. The staff at the hotel would be glad to help you arrange this at a fixed fee. The journey takes about 50-60 minutes, depending on the notorious traffic of Istanbul, and the driver knows the exact location of the hotel in narrow historic streets and takes you as close to the door as possible. Taxis are abundant from the official airport rank, but it often makes sense to pre-book a transfer.
The best of all inexpensive transportation solutions from the IST is to take the HAVAIST airport shuttle bus. The HAVAIST-12 line operates all day and can drop you off at Beyazıt Meydanı (right next to the Grand Bazaar). From Beyazıt Square, take the T1 tram line only two stops to the Sultanahmet station, or travel by cab, which isn't very far; the hotel is about a 5-10-minute taxi ride from there. The process is much reliable compared to getting private taxi services because it costs much less and no taxi scam is involved.
For those landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) on the Asian edge of the city, the trip is going to take still longer (90+ minutes). Most people would take a HAVABUS shuttle to Taksim Square. To get from Taksim Square to the hotel takes 15 minutes by taxi, or to travel in style take the F1 funicular down to Kabataş, then transfer with the T1 tramline to Sultanahmet. It's not a very car-friendly location anyway, as the old part of the city has narrow, one-way streets, and there is practically no public parking.
